Just really cool stuff
Just really cool stuff
When working at the store, a friend of mine traded in a copy of Pokemon Red. Well, almost. He brought it in so I could test it, and upon doing so, we made a fantastic discover. See for yourself.

Yeah, and it’s still out there, in his hands, sucking up all kinds of digital evil.
I know, I know. I’m an awful journalist! Not that I don’t have anything good to say, but seriously, I haven’t updated here in like 3 months. There’s a TON to talk about, and I want to get it down regular, but I am a busy man. Freshly single (but friends still), I’ve found myself with more time, but at the same time, a considerable amount less.
As you know, I’m running my own Video Game store which requires me to be there a million hours a week doing stuff, and when I’m NOT, I’m at home, streaming my show from the Datazone channel. Yeah, I know, it’s AMAZING, but it shouldn’t be an excuse to not be rocking Ravage daily. So, I will be doing my absolute best to work on keeping these updates regular, but if I can’t, please forgive me. It just gets worse as we get closer to the holiday season.
I have been playing a ton of games, however (well, kinda), and want to do reviews on all the stuff I’ve gone through since I stopped writing. That will include God of War 3, No More Heroes 2, Metroid: Other M, and many others. I’m wrapping up some impressions on Sonic 4 for the iPhone as well, and will do some comparisons between that and the console release.
So, again, thanks for your support and patience, and don’t forget to also visit Datazone, usually beginning at 9:30-10 PM MST.

Share on FacebookEver wish one of the best games of all time was bigger, longer, and harder? We wish everything could fit those three adjectives, but without proper channels, we’ll just have to settle for making sure that those who spend their time making brand new games out of games we know and love get the proper attention they deserve. When you love Mario World this much, you get a formula that is supreme level design created by gamers who want something more. Have a look.

So, my fun little Game of the Day questionnaire thing has taken a brief hiatus due to being terribly busy, but I will be updating shortly here for the 1 of you that read it. Hopefully you haven’t been waiting too long, but I assure you, there’s plenty more to come soon! Thank you for your patients (assuming you’re a doctor, of course)!
Share on FacebookWell, one thing I REALLY used to be into was Japanese game design. Not to say that I don’t like it anymore, but I feel differently about Japan than I used to, but it doesn’t come from disliking it at all. I’ve just grown out of the charm of being obsessed with anything that Nippon could offer, from music, games, movies, and subtitles only to just letting it be there, and be good if it’s good, and bad if it’s bad, and it does offer plenty of both. However, in all times, the good is fun to recognize and the bad doesn’t need to weigh me down, so one of my favorite Japanese games is a little GBA gem that never got localized, but had a DS sequel that did. The DS game is amazing in it’s own right, but the GBA one felt much more complete and enjoyable to me. Welcome to Heaven.
Day 3 – A game that makes you really happy
Rhythm Tengoku – GBA

Oh, so here we go. A game I love that I’m sure most of the world wouldn’t look at, despite the fact that is shares a LOT more in common with some of the most popular games that are currently on market OR some classics of consoles past. The story behind this game is an odd one, but as an NES title, the story is the small dab of glue holding in place a fantastic game where you never say die.
Day 2 – The most underrated game you’ve ever played
The Goonies II – NES

So, a friend of mine sent me a list of these challenges to write out, and I figured what better way to spread news of my tastes and interests than through this comprehensive list? Let’s give this a shot for the next month (and end it on the note of Metroid: Other M coming out), and see what goodies come our way!
Day 1 – Your current favorite game
DRAGON QUEST IX – Nintendo DS

Share on FacebookTruth be told, I can’t stand Tekken. I only like a handful of characters and the animation in those games drives me absolutely batty. It’s gotten BETTER over the years, but transitioning inbetweens for the animation has never looked fluid for me, it’s always looked sloppy. So, I’m not a fan of the series, but with this fighting crossover announced, how do YOU feel? Any matchups you’re looking forward to?
Would you rather Capcom have fought in a different universe, or are you fine with this one? They’ve battled Marvel, SNK, Animation Company Tatsunoko and themselves, but who else could be a good contender? Way of the Warrior? Clay Fighter? Primal Rage? What about Mortal Kombat or even Dead or Alive? Who do YOU think would make the best matchup for the classic Street Fighter crew? If I had to choose, I’d be more down with DoA, as it was my favorite of the 3D fighting games. But let’s hear about YOUR dream fight!
Share on FacebookWell, today had a good surprise to wake up to, and that was largely due in part to Dr. Doom, Chun Li, Super Skrull, and Trish being confirmed for the Mega Mashup Fighter due out next year on PS3 and 360. Now, Trish is the only character I’m not terribly excited about, because I feel that the DMC series only needs rep from one person, which is Dante, and is already confirmed from previous trailers and gameplay footage. That’s ok, though, because as long as Rad Spencer gets in there, I don’t care about any other team but him and Morrigan! But enough talk, feast your eyes on the trailer below!
